Dokseodang Korean Medicine Clinic

Fees & Insurance

What it costs, before you sit down

We tell you the cost of what we are about to do before we do it. That applies to treatments, to herbal medicine, and to anything not covered by insurance.

At a glance

With Korean National Health Insurance (NHIS), a first visit at Dokseodang is ₩17,000 and a follow-up is ₩16,000 out of pocket, including acupuncture, moxibustion and cupping. With Chuna manual therapy the total is ₩55,000 for a first visit and ₩52,000 for a follow-up. Patients aged 65 and over pay ₩2,400 under the senior flat-rate scheme for a basic visit. Without Korean insurance, a first visit is ₩60,000 and a follow-up ₩55,000. Traffic-accident treatment under Korean auto insurance carries no out-of-pocket cost. Fees vary with what is actually performed and prescribed.

If you have Korean National Health Insurance

Foreign residents enrolled in NHIS are covered on the same terms as Korean nationals. Please bring your Alien Registration Card. Acupuncture with cupping, moxibustion, Chuna manual therapy and certain insured herbal formulas are covered when the diagnosis qualifies.

If you do not have Korean insurance

Visitors without NHIS are charged non-insured rates: ₩60,000 for a first visit and ₩55,000 for a follow-up, including the consultation with acupuncture, cupping and moxibustion. Chuna manual therapy, pharmacopuncture and herbal medicine are charged separately, and we tell you each amount before we begin.

Herbal medicine and other non-insured items

Pharmacopuncture ranges from ₩10,000 to ₩30,000 depending on the type. Herbal medicine is priced individually — we tell you the formula name, its ingredients and the price, and prepare it only after you agree. Non-insured prices are posted in the clinic and on our Korean website.

Payment

We accept cash and Korean credit and debit cards. Some overseas-issued cards may not work, so please carry an alternative if you are visiting from abroad. We can issue a receipt for insurance or reimbursement purposes on request.
