Dokseodang welcomes English-speaking patients. Our doctor speaks basic English and uses translation apps for detailed explanations, and consultations are given extra time for this. Appointments can be made through Naver Booking or by phone, and walk-ins are also seen. Korean National Health Insurance is accepted; visitors without it pay non-insured rates of ₩60,000 for a first visit and ₩55,000 for a follow-up.

Is English spoken at the clinic?
Our doctor speaks basic English and uses translation apps for detailed explanations. Consultations may take a little longer than usual, and we set aside the time for that. If you prefer, you are welcome to bring a Korean-speaking friend.
What are your opening hours?
Mon, Wed, Thu and Fri 10:00–20:00, with a lunch break from 13:00 to 14:00. Sat, Sun and public holidays 10:00–15:00, with no lunch break. We are closed on Tuesdays, including when a public holiday falls on a Tuesday, and for three days each over the Lunar New Year and Chuseok holidays.
Do I need an appointment?
Appointments are preferred but not required. You can book through Naver Booking or by calling +82-2-2281-3281. Walk-in patients are seen, though you may wait between booked appointments.
Is this covered by Korean health insurance?
Yes, if you are enrolled in Korean National Health Insurance and the diagnosis qualifies. Foreign residents with NHIS are covered on the same terms as Korean nationals — please bring your Alien Registration Card. Without NHIS, non-insured rates apply — ₩60,000 for a first visit and ₩55,000 for a follow-up — and we tell you the amount before starting.
I am visiting Korea as a tourist. Can I still come?
Yes. Non-insured rates apply — ₩60,000 for a first visit and ₩55,000 for a follow-up. A single session is possible if you are only in Seoul briefly, and we will tell you honestly whether one session is likely to be worth it for your particular problem.
Does acupuncture hurt?
The needles are much thinner than injection needles. Most people describe a dull, heavy sensation rather than sharp pain, and some feel almost nothing. Tell us at any point if something is uncomfortable — we adjust as we go.
How long does a visit take?
A first visit usually takes longer because of the consultation and any tests. Treatment itself is commonly around 20 to 30 minutes. We will give you a clearer estimate once we know what is planned for the day.
Can I get a receipt for my insurance at home?
Yes. We can issue a receipt with the treatment details. Please ask at the front desk before you leave, and tell us if your insurer needs a particular format.
Is herbal medicine safe with my current medication?
Tell us everything you are taking, including supplements. We check for interactions before prescribing, and blood tests for liver and kidney function are available on site if that is a concern for you.
